5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the kitchen and the tub, August 20, 2010

I have used the Black & Decker Scum buster for years. I like these little power scrubbers better because:

1. It's smaller and more portable than the Scum buster.

2. It performs the same as the Scum buster, so if I can get the same cleaning power in a small handheld device, I will pick that anytime.

3. The Scum buster uses those proprietary Ni-Cad cylindrical batteries. Those are a specialized battery that you have to buy at Sears or the hardware store and they are expensive.

This power scrubber uses four AA batteries. We all have those around the house. Moreover, I use Sanyo eneloop rechargeable batteries which means I am never out of power.

4. What I really like is that this power scrubber is small, light and easy to use. You don't get tired using it. The huge Scum Buster eventually gets tiresome to use and it's awkward to handle.

5. B & D designed the Power Scrubber to spin fast and powerful enough to really... Read more

I LOVE THIS ITEM....IT REALLY MAKES CLEAN UP'S A SNAP. I PURCHASED ADDITIONAL BRUSHES, PADS ETC., SO I CAN CLEAN BATHROOMS AS WELL AS THE KITCHEN BY JUST SWITCHING THE BRUSHES OR PADS. I JUST LEAVE THE ATTACHMENTS IN EACH ROOM.

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface

Customer Rating :
Rating: 4.4

List Price : $199.99 Price : Too low to display
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface

Product Description

The Scarlett 2i2 is a 2 in/2 out USB recording interface featuring two award-winning Focusrite preamps. Housed in an attractive anodised aluminium unibody chassis, the interface not only sounds fantastic but looks great too. What’s more it’s solid enough to take on the road when you travel. For more than 25 years, Focusrite has designed some of the most popular microphone preamps in the industry. This experience has been used to create the transparent, low-noise and low-distortion preamp found not only in the Scarlett 2i2 but also our flagship Firewire interface, the Liquid Saffire 56. Plenty of available headroom makes it suitable for moving coil, condenser and ribbon microphones regardless of the source. Phantom power is provided for mics that need it. The front panel Neutrik combination input can be used to connect line and instrument level signals as well as microphones. This makes it perfect for recording the output of a synthesizer or stage piano, whilst at the flick of a switch you can cater for the output of an electric or acoustic guitar. Unique halo signal indicators let you know that you've got a good signal level for recording. Red means that your signal is clipping, and that you should reduce the gain. The halo will momentarily turn amber as the level returns to a healthy level, at which point it will turn green. A large monitor dial provides a tactile control for the volume of your speakers, whilst a high quality headphone amp provides a clean yet loud signal to headphones connected to the front panel socket. The direct monitor switch routes audio directly from the inputs to both the headphone and speaker outputs. This allows you to monitor the incoming signal with zero-latency. The included Scarlett Plug-In suite provides effects compatible with all major DAWs; so whether you're using GarageBand, Pro Tools 9, Cubase, Logic or the included Ableton Live Lite, Scarlett 2i2 is the complete package for you to get recording straight away.

USB cable included in the box

  • High Quality Mic Preamps
  • Excellent Digital Performance
  • Rugged Metal Unibody Case
  • Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface, Truly Portable Interface
  • Included Software - DAW and Effects

5.0 out of 5 stars A great choice for starting out., October 22, 2011
This review is from: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface (Electronics)
It took me a while to get this device set up properly. Technical support was little help, and by the time I got their number, I had figured out the issue on my own. This difficulty wasn't the product's fault - it was mine, for being new to using ASIO. I was still trying to output via my soundcard, while inputting via the interface and the applications were dying in the process.

Once I quit splitting the workload between the devices, everything worked like a charm. I got the latency down to acceptably microscopic. 6ms actual tested return latency at 64 samples in+out @24/96khz (compared to the DAW claimed latency of 2ms).

My current signal chain: Mic -> Trakmaster Pro (hardware compression is vital when recording digitally) -> 2i2 -> PC.

Even when I was recording on directsound drivers, it sounded pretty good - except for the latency. But now the latency is sufficiently small that it's not a major distraction during tracking. There will be people... Read more

This review is from: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface (Electronics)
I use this little guy in connection with my DAW and digital piano. I run the piano sounds through balanced cables into the line-in ports for recording, and I also run VST intruments on my DAW that I trigger via USB MIDI from the piano and use this device for digital/audio conversion. I listen through Sennheser HD 595 headhphones plugged in to this and I also have some studio monitors attached using balanced cables.

I purchased this to upgrade from my previous audio interface, the Behringer UF0202. That device worked quite well for this purpose as well but lacked two things: a volume knob, and balanced in/outs. The volume knob thing I could work around, but my current monitors seem susceptible to ground loops (even with a ground lift plug), so I needed to go with balanced cables. I'm glad I did. The balanced cables completely eliminated my noise problems. This was a good purchase. However, I would say to anyone who doesn't need balanced cables and is on a budget that... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for starters and beginners., February 28, 2012
This review is from: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface (Electronics)
I'm a starter with recording who uses this for voice, using a MXL 990 mic and a Monster Standard 100 cable. I haven't used any other audio interfaces before, so I can't really do a comparison, but as a starter, I enjoy this interface very much. First of all, the sound that comes out of it is very good for the price, but one of the things I love most about this interface is that it is extremely easy to use. The layout is very easy understand and everything is put together in a way that makes it very easy to operate. It's build quality is excellent and very solid, too.

I use the 2i2 on MacOS Lion, and it works fine with GarageBand. Sometimes, although Garageband is able to detect the interface when I connect it, it doesn't always detect the mic so I have to restart my computer to have the mic work with Garageband. I'm not quite sure how to use the plug-ins included with the interface or the trial recording software, but it's not a particularly big problem for me... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars tip a little cool, December 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: PEET MO8 Power Cell Shoe Dryer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I wanted a more compact dryer than the common two-tube things and it didn't seem efficient to have an upside-down boot where warm, rising water vapor would hit the rubber sole instead of the leather upper

With the PEET MO8 the very end of my boot toes were a still a little cool and damp in the morning; I think maybe tipping the boots toes upwards will get convection flow to that area but the units slide backward then and I'll have to prop them inside. The boots are gore-tex/thinsulate/leather so water vapor passes through the boot. The units felt quite warm when I removed them except for the tips. Kill-A-Watt meter says 8.8 watts current flow after warm-up. Cord is about 6' before splitter with L.E.D. power indicator and then 18" to units.

Sopping wet hikers took over 3 days to dry and now smell moldy. Finally thought to put them on my heating pad as well and sped things up.

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good shoe dryer, February 11, 2011

This review is from: PEET MO8 Power Cell Shoe Dryer (Tools & Home Improvement)
i have used these shoe dryers a couple times. they work pretty well. it takes a little while but they get the job done. don't expect your child to play in the snow and come in for lunch and then go back out with dry boots...not gonna happen. it took a couple hours to dry my son's boots after playing in the snow. for the price though, i would recommend them.
