When I first bought it 3 years ago I was thrilled for the amount of money it was and how it chewed through my projects. BUT then the battery stopped working, either it was charging too long and ruined the battery, or it just does not last I am not sure but it no longer holds a charge very long. I tried using it today for a few small screws and it died right in the middle of my project, which now I know can be blamed on the NiCad Battery tech, which takes much to long to charge and does not hold a charge like Lithium batteries. I doubt anyone will expect a 12v Drill/Driver to compare to a higher voltage drill say 14v - 20v tools, but for small household projects this is all I'll be needing and would recommend this drill/driver to anyone looking to use for the same.Over all it holds a good charge while performing doing projects, and when it's put up with a charge it seems to hold it very well. The chuck has been fine and I haven't had any issues with it or the other black & Decker tools I've owned. I used to own a Dewalt years back and this was probably a third the price and works better. |
