Use as a general treatment for connectors, contacts and other metal surfaces, and on non-critical metal surfaces with severe oxidation and corrosion. If the metal surface is discolored, it is severe. DeoxIT® dissolves the contamination and protects the surface. For reference, DeoxIT® has approximately 20% cleaning action. I normally use this for small electrical items. Recently our microwave died, and my wife immediately assumed we would need to buy a new one. I opened the keypad panel, and noticed that a set of connecting pins looked tarnished. I pulled the ribbon cable, used the CAIG cleaner on the ends, and plugged it back in. The microwave has been working fine ever since (about two months). This is a re-order, to replace the small tube I bought a couple of years ago. It's easy to apply with the brush, although I often use a Q-tip instead to control the amount being applied. So far, so good! |
